Galaxy Oreo Update: Samsung Adds Screenshot Labeling Feature in Android 8.0

Samsung has kept us busy with their Android 8.0 Oreo beta testing program for the Galaxy S8, and most recently, the Galaxy Note 8. As the beta continues to receive new updates, stability has improved continuously, and new features keep on creeping in for both devices. Some of the new features in Samsung's Oreo update include color-matched lock screen content, new always-on display themes, and transparent notifications. A new addition to the list targets screenshots and the sloppy way that files are saved.Taking screenshots is a pretty routine task for smartphones. You might take a quick screenshot to share a funny post with a friend or to brag about your impressive gaming results. We often take this simple task for granted, but if you want to organize screenshots, it can be difficult.Organizing and labeling screenshots can be important when helping a friend troubleshoot issues on their phone or providing a tutorial. Before, you would just get a random file name associated with a screenshot. In the Android Oreo beta, Samsung automatically appends the app's name to the file name, so you know exactly what app is seen in the screenshot. If you download a list of screenshots, it's now easy to recognize which app you were using when you needed the screen. This feature is incredibly basic, actually a bit surprising that it isn't a standard Android feature.Don't Miss: Top 5 Features Missing From Samsung's Android Oreo UpdateLet us know in the comments if you think this is a useful addition to Samsung's Experience UI.
